Rural Regions of the UK Have Been Provided A Giant Boost From Grant Help From The New Government

As the brand new wave of high-speed broadband products hit the market, the competitive, fast-paced market has had to look at their coverage of the UK. It is all well and good having high speed access in the main cities but people and particularly the younger age band that are in the rural UK are missing out on probable Internet Business Opportunities. In the newest speech made by the new government it said that they are going to ‘prioritise’ the rural regions to stop, particularly, teenagers and businesses in the rural UK on missing out and decreasing behind their urban competitors.

Over the past few years, major progress has been made to increase the connection to rural areas but this was at a cost to the government and the internet providers. The prior government was going to put a set charge of 50p on all fixed phone lines in rural areas to cover this charge, this has been ditched by the new government. The new Environment Secretary made a declaration this week to bring all of the internet providers together to have talks about assuring that the new internet products will be available to the rural society, these talks were said to be set ‘at the earliest opportunity’.

An Internet Business Opportunity is more hard to discover in a rural region as the pure broadband speeds in these areas put them at a considerable disadvantage and they in fact risk costing the economy money. It has been reported that when the new high-speed products come in and the Internet Marketing Opportunity gets into full swing then it is estimated that only about 60-70% of the UK will be able to obtain these new products. This was deemed unacceptable by the Department for the Environment and they have advised the government to step in and make an accent on connectivity rather than dividing the rural areas. The new government then made a statement that outlines Internet Business Opportunities and hopefully will see a considerable enlargement in the connectivity of the UK, ‘We will begin measures to guarantee the quick roll-out of superfast broadband round the country’.

This will hopefully be a noteworthy statement, as the cuts that have been made recently do not provide much room for this major construction of superfast broadband. The charge for this outlay will most likely be coming from our TV licence fee in places that need the switchover and increased broadband. There is no doubt that the outlay is needed but in this changing time of governments and recovery the charge will once again be put onto us.

There is no doubt that the exisiting coverage of broadband and mobile phone signal is not acceptable in rural parts and an Internet Business Opportunity is tough to operate without a good connection. It is hitting young people and businesses in these parts the most and it is not acceptable that an Internet Marketing Opportunity like the ones we are viewing on TV and in magazines is not available to everyone.

There are various projects starting at the end of this year, which are run by local communities and are being trialled in various rural regions, this funding comes from the EU and is going to test different answers to the connectivity problem.
