Here are some quick answers to questions that
have been recently submitted at AskJoelComm.com.
Question: I read in your book “The Adsense Code”
about taking ebooks and making them as free
content website(s) and adding Adsense to the
pages. I have several books I have authored over
the years. Should each book (topic) be its own
website or is a one “master” website with pages
or directory by topic okay?
Answer: This is a great way to come up with new
content! Everything old is new again, and much of
the information will still be relevant to
readers. I recommend setting up a different web
site for each book you have authored. Perhaps the
name of the book is available as a domain name.
What a great opportunity to publish valuable
content and monetize with AdSense.
Question: Joel, Recently I noticed adsense ads
being displayed inside the email newsletter of
beliefnet.com Can you tell me if google is
allowing this now?
Answer: It’s possible that Google is beta-testing
AdSense for RSS feeds in select newsletters. I
haven’t seen this yet, but it wouldn’t surprise
me if it is announced soon.
Question: Well while you speak of the great money
you were making. Everyone I know who was making
money on adsense, that 2006 came in with a bang
and killed the adsense money. So your site and
video seem to lack any real info about what you
are doing to still make adsense money in 2006.
Answer: I don’t know who you are talking about,
but people who create content-rich sites are
making more AdSense revenue than ever before! I
suspect that those who are taking the greatest
hit are those who are building sites for the sole
purpose of generating AdSense clicks. As I have
always taught, the way to AdSense success is to
create content that people will actually want to
read, thereby growing your site with repeat
visitors. The day for making “garbage” sites is
past. Focus on building real sites that will be
visited by real people. That’s the way to true
AdSense success, and the secret of my continued
AdSense income.
